Web Development Spot

About Chris Muller

My experience with creating websites on the Internet ranges from simple static websites with a few pages to complex websites with a variety of applications. Although web development usually covers the main non-design aspects of creating websites, in most cases I have also done the graphic design for the websites I have created. I have acquired some graphic design skills over the years, especially in the print shop I owned for 25 years.

ABOUT ME

Over the years, I’ve had the privilege of working in various industries, but the 25 years I spent running a small outdoor advertising print shop remain some of the most instructive.

During those years, I witnessed firsthand the transformative revolution in marketing and advertising brought about by the emergence of the World Wide Web. The print shop represented the traditional advertising world, but the tools of the Internet opened an exciting new landscape. This shift introduced powerful concepts like inbound marketing, driving website traffic, lead generation, and the overarching goal of increasing sales. Experiencing both the traditional and digital worlds gave me invaluable insight into marketing techniques that remain effective in today’s ever-changing environment.

My journey didn’t begin there. Before entering the printing industry, I held roles as a marketing manager and general manager for two distribution companies representing well-known international brands. These positions honed my business acumen and strategic thinking, which I carried into my entrepreneurial ventures and later into web development.

Though much of my career has been centered around sales and marketing, I’ve always been drawn to software and technology. My formal programming journey began in 1980, during which I dedicated six years to software development. When the web revolution began, it was a natural progression to channel this technical foundation into web development. In 2000, I launched my first website for a client, and since then, I’ve built and maintained websites for over 40 clients.

In recent years, my career has evolved significantly. From 2022, I provided second-level technical support for AcyMailing, an advanced email marketing platform. This role deepened my understanding of web technology, as I tackled complex issues related to server-side configurations, database management, and compatibility challenges while assisting users from around the world.

Today, my work combines decades of business experience with modern technical expertise. I develop custom web solutions, implement effective SEO strategies, and help businesses succeed in the digital space through tools like Joomla and WordPress.

I firmly believe that learning is a lifelong process. Every experience, whether traditional or digital, contributes to maturing our understanding and equipping us to navigate life’s complex challenges with better insight and purpose.
