Whatever we find to blame for our economic woes, the fact remains that the world is changing and with it the complexity and magnitude of our problems.

Our attitude can result in us becoming part of the problem or it can cause us to become creative in recognising opportunities around us. Taking action can lead us into becoming part of the solution.

Our basic need is to make a living and be able to provide for our families but this should not restrict us from having a wider perspective.

It is a well known fact that every negative situation is also the source of new opportunities.

There is an increasing number of people in the world who needs to be fed, needs clothing, housing,  education, a job, transportation, a friend, recreation and so on. This is a source of an increasing number of opportunities.

Looking at social grants as a source of income has become the approach of many who are either uneducated, unskilled, or unfit for employment. Unfortunately many are considering crime as a source of income. There is also a small percentage of people who are able to consider Investment, Real Estate, an expensive Professional career or white collar employment as a source of income.

The good news is that starting a small business is an opportunity that can be utilised by most people. Providing a service for a need in your community or selling something that is not that readily available can become a source of income while creating value for others.

If the need in your geographical community is not large enough to provide an income to live off, how about creating a presence on the Internet to promote your service or product online?

Gone are the days of "Yellow pages", directories or "pin boards". Billions of people are browsing the Internet daily to find an answer to their questions. According to statista the Global digital population as of July 2020 was 4,57 billion active Internet users. As of January 2020 the South African digital population was 36,54 million active Internet users. .
